Festival camping, upgraded: Ștefania’s Electric Castle story

My experience with RentAdventure was a complete one and let me tell you why: I’ve been camping for years - in the mountains, at the seaside, at festivals - and while classic tent camping is great, there's always some inconvenience. In the mountains I'm nervous about animals, at the beach sand gets into everything, and at festivals the weather is usually unpredictable. That's why the rooftop tent option felt so complete to me - it covers comfort, safety and even the view, all at once.

We set off from Bucharest on the morning of 17 July and reached Bontida – Electric Castle around noon. The car ran perfectly. We started with a full tank, and for the entire round trip we only needed two refuels for about 700 km. There were three of us, so it worked out incredibly convenient cost-wise.

Comfort, even when it rains

We didn't have to worry at all about bedding, because two pillows, a duvet and sheets were all included. The tent itself was surprisingly spacious, and I loved how peaceful it was to sit inside while it rained – no stress at all. The one small downside was that we didn't get a shady spot in the campsite, so during the day it got quite hot inside the tent. But since we were at a festival, we didn't spend much time at camp anyway.

The awning was a real help, and the whole setup with the table and chairs made everyday life so much easier. The mini fridge kept our drinks and snacks cold, and we also rented the solar power bank, which kept all our devices charged – a genuine game-changer at a festival.

A minimalist home on the road

Honestly, the car and rooftop tent combo is an outstanding option for festivals and beyond – you basically bring your “home” with you in a minimalist way. It's safe and very budget-friendly, especially if you only take two or three trips like this a year. For three people, it was ideal, and I'd recommend this kind of setup for families too. Overall, the value for money is unbeatable if you want comfort while still enjoying your freedom and not depending on fixed accommodation.
